4.How do I do a “hard reset” on my WingHome camera?

Please turn on the camera and go to “Other” > “Reset” in the main interface, select “Yes” to reset camera back to factory default settings.

5.Night Vision Flash Range Doesn’t Meet Expectation

a) Please check to make sure that batteries are fully charged or left power is enough;

b) “Max Range” offers better IR flash range. Given IR flash range values are based on Max Range setting; so please adjust Night Mode to Max Range for better night vision flash range;

c) High-quality 1.5V NiMH rechargeable AA batteries can also offer much better IR flash range; alkaline batteries cannot deliver enough amperage to power the illuminator consistently at night;

d) To ensure accuracy and quality of night time image, please mount camera to dark environment without any obvious light sources;

e) A certain surroundings (like trees, walls, ground, etc.) within flash range can get you better night time images; please do not aim camera to total open field where there is nothing within IR flash range to reflect flash back; it’s like shinning a flashlight into sky in night, you just can’t see anything; same does camera;

6.When I use a memory card can I view the pictures on my personal digital camera?

We do not recommend viewing memory card images taken in your game camera on any other digital camera, you may experience compatibility issues.

7.Is the infrared flash invisible?

The infrared flash will give off a low glow red light it is not invisible.

8.How can I tell if my camera is going to take pictures where I want it to?

By using the test mode. A light on the front of the camera labeled TEST will blink when the camera is detecting motion. Directly face the camera towards the location you are trying to cover and walk in front of it to see the light go on, this will indicate activity.

9.Can I use my game camera through a window or glass door?

Glass may disrupt your sensor beam. We don’t advise using the camera in this fashion.

10.What should I do if my pictures are out of focus?

If your pictures are out of focus, please call customer service. The customer service representative will ask you to email them a sample picture. It's possible your unit may need to be sent to our repair center for a technician to review.

11.WingHome camera won’t retain settings.

Make sure that you have saved the changes that you make during the menu setup of the camera.

If you don’t select and save these settings, the camera will revert back to the default settings.

12.WingHome camera stops taking images or won’t take images.

Please make sure that the SD card is not full. If the card is full, the camera will stop taking images.

Check batteries to make sure that they are new alkaline or lithium AA batteries. See note about short battery life.

Make sure that the camera power switch is in the “On” position and not in the “Off” or “Setup” modes.

13.PIR sensor led flashes/doesn’t flash

When the camera is in the “Setup” mode, a special LED on the front of the camera will flash when it senses motion. This is for setup purposes only and will help the user aim the camera.

During use, the LED will not flash when the camera takes an image. This is to help keep the camera hidden from game.

14.Photos do not capture subject of interest.

Check that the “Sensor Level” (PIR sensitivity) parameter setting. For warm environmental conditions, set the Sensor Level to “High” and for cold weather use, set the sensor for “Low”.

Try to set your camera up in an area where there is not a heat source in the camera’s line of sight.

In some cases, setting the camera near water will make the camera take images with no subject in them. Try aiming the camera over ground.

Try to avoid setting the camera up on small trees that are prone to being moved by strong winds.

Remove any limbs which are right in front of the camera lens.

15.If a majority of my images are over exposed what should I do to try to alleviate this?

This is most often caused by the camera being positioned in a very enclosed area where the target being photographed is very close to the camera. To alleviate this you can either reposition the camera to point to a more open area or move it further up the tree and angle it downward to the area that you wish photographed.

16.How can I print my images?

You can print your images directly from your computer if you have an SD card slot or external reader. You can also take the SD card to a photo center and have them printed.

17.Why is my WingHome camera taking photos with nothing in the frame?

A camera has what is known as a “false trigger” if the PIR sensor thinks that there is motion and heat in front of the camera lens when there is no subject in the image. These “False Triggers” are the result of placing the camera in an environment where there is motion associated with tree branches creating motion in front of the camera or an area where there is high heat in the foreground and any motion from wind could set off the camera. Setting a camera up over water is also a potential cause for this issue.

To remedy this situation try moving the camera to an area that does not have any of these issues or try changing the sensor level on the menu settings.

If the camera continues to take images when there is no subject in them, try placing the camera in an inside environment and aiming at a location where there is no motion. If the camera continue to show issues, then there is probably an electronic component issue. If this is the case, please contact our customer service to send the camera back for repair.

18.Why is my WingHome camera taking black photos at night?

The voltage on your batteries may be low. Make sure you are using the recommended batteries and recommended SD card. The IR filter may be stuck.

19.Why is my WingHome camera taking black and white photos during the day?

If the camera is positioned in an extremely shaded area, it is possible the flash is being triggered during the daytime. The camera is not getting enough light to take a color picture. It's most common to experience this in the summer months, when the tree canopy is denser and drowns more light. Though the reduced light may cause daytime images to render in black and white, they should still be high quality, crisp and clear. If you're set on capturing color images, it is recommended to reposition the camera where the camera can detect a greater amount of light.

20.How do I format my SD card?

Formatting a memory card is recommended after every time you download pictures. To format your SD card, follow the instructions below:

1. Simply put the card in your computer (or memory card reader) go to "My Computer."

2. Once you have located the SD card on your computer, right click on the file

3. Click the "formatting" option

4. Then click ok.

21.How often should I replace my SD Card?

We recommend to replace SD cards every few years as they have a finite number of read/write cycles and will degrade over time, even during normal operation. Until that time, periodically check your SD card for wear and tear, especially on the electrical contacts to ensure they are clean and in good condition. This will ensure proper connection to the camera.

22.What kind of sim or SD card do I need?

The sim card is already installed inside the camera.

The SD slot of the camera has a 32 GB memory capacity.

Chart below will show you the approximate capacity of different size SD cards. Pls check to see which size card can fit your needs best.
